Farm Land Values Rise in Canada for 1946
The average occupied farm land value in Canada for 1946 is reported at $32 per acre, up seven percent from 1944 and 1915, and 28 percent above the 1935–39 average. The Dominion Bureau of Statistics notes higher farm product prices and farming input costs drive the trend, with 1946 index levels up from prewar baselines. Variations occurred across provinces, except Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick saw slight declines.
