Afr W Hamilton of John McDonald & Co Toronto visits friends in town. Walter Ramsey and T E Jago of Guelph spend Sunday in Rockwood. Mre Welsford recovers from blood poisoning. Talbot and Daffield shipped a load of hogs. Gael of Galt sent three carloads of cattle. Sunday school excursion planned for June 27 to Burlington Beach by Grand Trunk Railway. Mrs G Duffield and Misses Duffield and Hamilton plan a Rockwood to Old Country trip in early January.
Mr Richardson of our Publia Botiool attended the Teacher s Association at Milton. Students travel from Wellington County for his instruction. A farm near Crews on s Corners is mentioned. The town attends Mr Bennett s barn raising. Trout catches are reported. Capt Craig paid a visit to Erin school. J D Leitch becomes CPR agent at Erin. A heifer was killed on the track. Stringer from Wycliffe conducted services. Early closing is discussed. Meth odiet Church ministers head District Meeting at Georgetown. Erin Bible Society income was 960 80.
The corner stone of the new Presbyterian church at Campbellville was laid last Friday with ceremonies. The church, to be named St. David's in honor of donor David Wheltham, includes a history of the church and a dedicatory prayer. Dinners followed and a collection of $324 was taken.
Mrs. Jane Gaal, about 70, longtime Ebenezers resident, died Thursday evening after a 40 year stay. Survived by two daughters and two sons, funeral Saturday at 9 am with interment at Ebenezer Cemetery. Pallbearers named Gordon, Markes, Kitching, Norrish, Easton, Wilson. Reverend Shaw and wife visited Ebenezer Bethel congregations last Sabbath. Conditions improved after a cold spell with a Sunday shower. trees and orchards show early bloom. George and Mrs. Ashdown of Bradford visiting Koatehbail friends.
In Acton next Monday Rev R St Abraham B A is billed to take part in the snoviversary services of Knox church. The Week also notes Arbor day at the public school with grounds cleaned and flower beds replanted. G T R doubles track service and new lantern on Beach tower lighted last Friday. Funeral at Barlington Cemetery shared by John Dyer father 63 and son 17 who died Friday.
Milton merchants plan to close at 6 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays and 4 pm on other evenings except Saturday. Coroner Freeman reports no inquest into Mrs. Bradley of Palermo who died en route to the Abylam in Hamilton. jury cites exhaustion worsened by neglect and reserves criminal negligence verdict. CLR work crews clear rubbish and level ground around the new Methodist church improving its appearance. Grace Church YP8 concert featuring Mrs. Caldwell of Toronto proves a financial and musical success. Upcoming lacrosse match May 25 between Acton and Milton with Champion expected.
