Norval Halton County mourns Dr. Webster a longtime physician and public official who died at age 85. Born in Inniskillen he moved to Norval as a child, practiced medicine in the village for decades, served as Malton County councillor deputy reeve and reeved, was warden, and became Sheriff of Halton County in 1909. He married Bella Gollop and left no immediate family. Funeral tomorrow with interment at Norval Cemetery.
Ratepayers urged to study audited Georgetown Arena Co figures showing a four percent return since construction. Acton committee members request copies from Tim Fare Paris office and will present the report to informed residents.
Henry Foster aged 39 of Toronto dies in hospital after his car, driven by his son, crashes into a streetcar at the cemetery crossing near Niagara Falls. Also injured are Florence Foster and Henry Foster Jr. and Milas Edith Nevin. Foster's son was among the injured. the group was en route to visit Niagara Falls when high speed led to the wreck.
A Milton man and a Campbellville resident appeared before Police Magistrate Moors facing charges for failing to file income statements under the Special War Income Act. Both pleaded not guilty and were fined 9 3500 plus costs and ordered to complete and forward their returns promptly.
