Double Induction During Y s Men s Meeting
Acton Y's Men held a double induction on March 22 with a visit from Moffat Hill International director and GW McKenzie for Acton and Brampton club officers. Fire marshal and local firefighters spoke on fire prevention, showing Chicago school fire films. Donations totaling 500 to the Board and 825 to the Judge Paul Alexander Scholarship Fund were approved. Inducted were Acton officers Doug Copeland president and others, Brampton officers including Don Lyons president and Stan Mayers vice president.

Town approves used street sweeper and water project

Wilcar Wins Post Office Contract in Halton Bid
The Department of Public Works awarded Wilcar Construction Limited of Dundas a 144 300 contract for the new post office. Bid high was 172 913 with work to start within four weeks and finish in around six to ten months. An official said demolition and construction start upon official word and occupancy around schedule. Halton MP Alexander Best announced the tender results on January 24 1962.

Four year old hit by car fights for life near Acton
Four year old Michael Flatt was struck by a car in Acton and rushed to Georgetown Hospital before transfer to Toronto Sick Children’s Hospital. Doctors say he has a fractured skull and concussion but his condition has improved. his parents were called as he remained unresponsive at times.
