The fifth annual Halton Junior Farmers banquet at Trafalgar Memorial Hall drew about 130 juniors. Don Matthews presided as toastmaster and concluded his term as president. Carl Boynton spoke as guest, sharing slides from travels abroad. Awards to Mary Pope, Jean Peterson, Bar Joan Wrigglesworth, and John W. Picket were presented.

A Halton County visit to Harvey Nurse at Ashgrove showcases a 2000 acre dairy with 35 to 40 cows and a new 40 by 70 loafing barn. A milking parlor, glass piping, and bulk cooler promise labor savings as Halton milk producers discuss bulk hauling at a directorate meeting. The Nurse farm will be one of two stops on the annual DHEA tour Monday.

Erin Township Adopts Warble Fly and Brucellosis Acts
Erin township officials passed the Warble Fly Control Act and the Brucellosis Control Act at their March 7 meeting in Hillsburgh. A supervisory committee was named: Dr Worton provincial veterinarian W D Black George Bryan Morgan Graham and John Awrey. Several local financial actions were recorded including the cancellation of erroneous taxi arrears and the appointment of Daniel Grey as township treasurer for 1955. A $25 donation was approved to the Wellington County Seed Fair and administration costs for the Grand Valley Conservation Authority were billed at $120.96. Fence arbitration costs were paid to George Burt Chester Burt and Robert Rowan. Election expenses for a by election were paid to listed staff with amounts ranging from 4 to 17.40 and a half year salary to Collector Bert Berry. Total accounts paid amounted to 2691.45.

Rev. Charles C.
