Seven Year Old Narrowly Escapes Eye Injury
In Acton a seven year old boy named Jimmy Marshall, son of Earl Marshall, fell while running with a sharp stick and the splinter narrowly missed his eye. The splinter lodged in his cheek and was removed by Dr. McNiven. He was taken to Guelph Hospital for treatment and expects to be active again soon.

Single Men Defeat Married Men in Hockey Pair
A week ago two hockey games featured a Junior versus Midget clash ending 9-5 for the Juniors. The Midget squad showed promise but needs more time before facing older junior teams. In a second game the Single Men beat the Married Men 7-5 with Dr. Nelson starring in goal in his first appearance.

At a Tuesday meeting of the Public Utilities Commission commissioners Kerr and King presided. A notice will be published in The Free Press advising consumers of law provisions for discontinuing or collecting water arrears. The annual report for 1932 shows net profit 176.44 with assets 92,973.42 and reserves 39,255.52. domestic and commercial consumers numbered 562 and revenue from several services listed. Repairs and construction plans for the year to be finalized next meeting.

Two obituaries announced the deaths of R B Erwin of East Rochester and Mary Kitchen of Walkerville. Erwin, a former lacrosse player and long time East Rochester postmaster, died after a long illness. he leaves a wife, a son, a daughter and several siblings. Kitchen, widow of Hilliard Kitchen, died at Metropolitan Hospital Brantford. she is survived by husband two children and many relatives, with a large church and community memorial for Chalmers Church and Walkerside Dairies ties.
