Cleaver Chosen Liberal Candidate in Milton Delegates Vote
Ex mayor Hugh Cleaver was selected as the Liberal candidate for the coming federal election at the Progressive Association meeting in Milton Town Hall. Of 327 delegates, Cleaver won on the third ballot amid a crowded hall. about thirty Acton attendees were present. Sixteen nominees began, ten remained after withdrawals, and speeches by M P Blakelock and others preceded the vote. The gathering ended after midnight amid high enthusiasm.

The relief program was set to discontinue on March 1. accounts amounting to 63 were approved for payment and council adjourned to April 5.

Halton County Council Moves to Fund Warble Fly Eradication
Halton County Council voted to purchase warble and bot fly powder to treat about 36 000 cattle, estimated cost up to 750, with distribution overseen by a committee. Acton School Board Approves Repairs After Fire
At the monthly meeting the Acton School Board notes repairs completed after a recent fire. A ladder or stairway to the attic was approved. Inspector Randall praised the Continuation School conduct and urged a raise for Miss M. Mortimer. the board denied a retroactive increase to $1,000 starting January 1, 1935, with a salary of $1,000 retroactive. The board voted $10 to trophies for the Musical Festival. A new record form was approved.
