The Acton Chamber of Commerce hosted its second general meeting of the year at Knox Presbyterian Church with 23 members present. Guest speaker Row Harris of the All Canada Insurance Federation discussed automobile claims, noting the federation's $23 million payout last year and that automobile losses now top fire losses. He warned of rising accidents, saying accidents per 1,000 vehicles have doubled since 1889, with 107 accidents per 1000 vehicles per year at a peak, and that 90 percent of accidents stem from human error rather than mechanical failure. the talk continued on page six.
