Economics professor gives realistic picture to VS Men’s Club
Ivor Drummond head of the economic staff at the OAC warned the audience that Canada’s wartime prosperity rests largely on Marshall Plan aid and postwar rehabilitation. He said Europe’s recovery will shrink export markets and the US surplus will divert Marshall Plan purchases to America, threatening Canadian exporters. He urged clearer economic literacy to avoid a rude awakening and urged action to address the looming imbalances.
