Parliament notes on spending estimates and ethics probe
The past week in the Parliament of Canada saw passage of several 1966-67 spending estimates for Veterans Affairs Natural Resources and progress on the Dairy Commission Crop Insurance Act Canada Assistance Plan and Health Resources Fund. Committees remain heavily engaged with spending reviews, aiming to save House time. A Yukon member faced questions about a confidential report, later admitting he obtained and used it without sourcing. The new committee system works well enabling detailed scrutiny beyond the floor.
