An elderly Acton district resident suffered serious injuries Thursday afternoon after tripping on a small obstacle while walking on her son Dav id Honder's lawn on Main Street. She broke her right lip and fractured her right shoulder, was taken to Guelph Hospital, and remains in critical condition after a severe shock to her nervous system. United Church minister elect Clarence L Poole, J D, will arrive soon to assume duties. he will preach in the morning with a community service in the park. Captain Alfred Blahop of Acton won several track events during a training camp meet of the 4th Infantry Brigade at Long Branch, including the 100 and 200 yard dashes. Acton placed first in the relay race and the team received silver and bronze medals now on display.
A letter from Sir Harry Brittain M P LL D member for Acton England acknowledges a warm thanks for a gift described as a very beautiful acton flag. He notes tours, housing schemes, and a Windsor Ontario flag bearing the arms of Ontario to be sent from the Royal Borough. Brittain hopes other MPs will follow and says the two Actons have blazed the trail with good wishes.
