Spartan Contract Payment Withheld At Council Meeting
At a special council session on Monday evening the payment to Spartan Contracting Co was held back after a prolonged discussion. The meeting approved installing laterals to all assessed properties and left doubtful cases to the Sewer Committee. A water survey by J Sprowl near Wartine Housing reached water but record depth and flow remain undetermined. A request from Georgetown for body recovery equipment prompted a plan to purchase gear stored at the Fire Hall. The Halton Health Unit reported septic tanks in Wartime Housing generally satisfactory. The council also reviewed Fairview Cemetery conditions with the Town Foreman. Mayor A Mason chaired the session attended by all councillors.
