Wellington County Live Stock Association held its largest annual meeting at Ontario Agricultural College with 35 breeders attending. Neil McKinnon reelected president and a slate of township chairmen named.

Community notices report a Bannockburn Women’s Institute lawn social at Mr. and Mrs. Graff’s on July 4 with an eight o’clock start, 20c adults 10c children, plus a Good variety programme and refreshment booth. Veteran manufacturer George W. Beardmore, 82, president of Beardmore Leathers Ltd, celebrated his birthday. he was born June 26, 1851 in Hamilton and once led the Toronto Hunt Club. The Fibre Strawberry Social at Sunderland Villa raised funds with a quilt prize won by Mrs. Thos. Scott of Lake Avenue. The high school continuation staff saw Miss Dorothy Kidd depart. Miss Marian E. Mortimer was hired at $950. The Board reduced continuation-teacher salaries by $950. A long-awaited reunion of the Bishop siblings occurred in Acton after 33 years, with travels to Niagara Falls and plans for England. Mrs. Daniels arrived from England to visit, then returned home July 5 aboard the Montclair.
