Police Investigate After Weekend Theft Spree
Local police tracked over 150 dollars in stolen goods from the Dominion Hotel and a Ford car owned by Richard Tompkins of Acton. Corporal W Mason reported the break in and stolen vehicle at 11 30 Sunday. The 1840 Ford was found near Kilty Springs road and tobacco and cigarettes recovered after a bush search. Further action expected as finger print results arrive.

St John Ambulance Visit to Guelph Branch
The Acton unit of St John Ambulance Brigade led by Superintendent Robert Hart with Dr Garrett and Robert Martin, assisted by Jack Denny, elected John Chapman as secretary and Marie Hargrave as treasurer. Acton WI Tour to London Ends With Souvenir Packages
Acton Wisconsin women’s club organized a day trip to London leaving at 8 am on Wednesday June 12. The group traveled via Mallen Vaisimoe Clappisen Comers to Paris with a first stop at White Horse restaurant for refreshments. They toured Springbank Tork, enjoyed a picnic dinner, visited McCormick Biscuit et al Canis plant, split into groups, viewed product processes, and each woman received a heart-shaped souvenir. After a shopping period they headed back to Acton at 7 pm via No 7 highway stopping for dinner at Stratford and a drive past the Shakespeare Theatre.

German Shepherd Wins Six Awards at Dog Show
The German Shepherd known as Bede owned by Fred Pietle of Acton won six awards at the Scarborough Dog Show last weekend. Peter Wolfe age 11 won an 800 annual scholarship for completing high school at St Andrew's College Aurora. He placed among 16 in a field of two scholarships this year. He credits Acton School teachers for exam success while finishing grade eight. He enrolled September 10 and will start September 5th.
