Tenders for Acton’s Centennial Library will be called on June 8 if the council accepts the Centennial Committee’s recommendation after final plans by architect Don Skinner. Closing date is June 30. Landscaping, carpeting options, window types, and potential air conditioning are among tender variables. A bridge across Stool Creek was not in the contract. A Strathroy visit by library board members highlighted a modern two-zone complex with cathedral ceilings and space for 18,000 volumes in the library portion.
