Boys Find World War II Bomb Near Queen Street West
Two boys and friends dug up a live 11 percent Jb. Platt shell while turning a baseball diamond near Queen Street West. They carried the bomb to Dorkin Frizzell and then to army personnel for identification. Bruce Williamson, Oakville Army corporal, said the shell was loaded but fuse burned out and later disarmed in Oakville. The casing dated 1943.
