Protest By Law On Tax Checks And School Transfers
Council this week faced a protest over a by law tax check prompted by Lance from WW Steinfall Ninh Line. A ratepayer claimed higher taxes than neighbors living in basements of new homes for three years. Councillors ruled no tax adjustment, while an inspector would review the half completed home for by law issues. A petition from many parents urged the School Board to reverse the Pinegrove School transfer, noting Pineview is within walking distance while bus service would move their children five miles to a distant school. Additions are planned for Glen Williams and Stewarttown schools with no Pineview expansion planned.
