The Methodist Church Acton announces Sacramental Service and Fellowship at Willow Street 11.00 am with Sunday School at 7.00 pm. The minister will speak on Cities of Refuge. The Quarterly Official Board will meet Tuesday evening at 5 pm. all members urged to attend.
A fragment mentions Mr CA Halliday of Knox College Toronto with references to a Bible class at 3 00 pm and Sunday School. It notes departures of new attendees, usher guidance, and a pastoral call.

Marriage notices include Gladys Mae Lowe and Thomas William Cousans and Pearl Somerville and Dougall Kennedy. The paper notes a cloudy partial solar eclipse view with limited darkness.
An old newspaper ad touts assorted chocolates in a mix of hard and soft centres with regular and weekend sale prices. It also promotes tasty lunches and a coffee with sweet cream.
The sixth Census of Canada release details Halton County totals 24,899 with per town male female figures. Acton, Burlington, Georgetown, Milton, Oakville, Esquesing, Nassagaweya, Nelson, Trafalgar list Anglican, Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic, and other denominations. Gender gaps and denominational totals reveal Presbyterian and Methodist memberships nearly equal.
At the annual meeting in Town Hall farmers approved finances under the new act and set an $80 986.56 assessment with $71 219.20 paid. William Hume was elected president Duncan Campbell vice president and Thomas Moore secretary treasurer. John Wilson and others were elected directors.
Knox Church held last Thursday evening meeting with strong participation and praise for faithful service and patriotic work by pastor officials and members. General fund contributions totaled 3795.02 with mission giving 2549.03 raised by envelopes Sunday School Rally Day and various church organizations. The annual report will be printed and distributed soon.

The Shoemakers Hockey Club will host a dance in the Town Hall Assembly Room on Friday February 6 with McMillan’s Orchestra from Gait providing music. Silver cups will be awarded to the best dancing couples.
Police Magistrate Moore jailed Albert Scott for two months in county jail on a waienned charge. Pete Lobso faced a remand for a week for keeping liquor unlawfully. Andrew Bruder paid $60 and costs for treating a horse on Sunday, with two months jail if unpaid. George Deeks, Tony Seynuk cases featured liquor sales and whiskey transport with fines up to $1,000 and car seizure. The 303 Chemical Company faced multiple charges over nonconforming company name and illegal wine sales, with a December hearing and eventual withdrawal to curb travel costs.
Acton Tanning Co moved from third to first place in the Town Hockey League by winning twice last week. They beat Beardmore & Co by a close margin and defeated Town 26 to 3, with strong performances from both sides. The A R Clarkes, Toronto Industrial league champions, visited Friday and won 4–2, showcasing solid defense and fast forwards led by Lorne Chisholm in goal and Baunders among the scorers.
Acton residents patronized Toronto theatre during the week of January 19. Cyril Mundo at the Princess and Artists and Models at the Royal Alexandra drew crowds. Electric Railway service offered late-night cars to connect with Toronto streetcars for groups of ten or more from Acton and vicinity.

Also reports on Miss Kennedy’s Chicago visit, a Kennedy-Somer-Villa wedding, a funeral procession with sixty ministers, and hospital recoveries.

He lists encounters with royalty and leaders, battleships, battlefields and cities across England Scotland Wales and Ireland. The series of twenty five articles expresses lasting friendships and renewed editor duties.
The fourth session of Canada’s Federal Parliament will open in Ottawa on February 6 with Governor General Baron Byng presiding. The session may run until late May or early June, with 246 Members of the House of Commons, ten more than last session after last year’s Redistribution Act. The specific agenda remains to be announced by Prime Minister W. L. Mackenzie King.
