Acton Parks Board Plans 1959 Budget and Development
The Acton Parks Management Board set a 1959 budget of about 3000 dollars for continued maintenance and new facilities. Consultant P Alan Deacon urged a town wide plan including central commercial area stimulation with off street parking a full town park and a future street plan tied to highway expansions. Takes Two Shots To Kill Rabid Fox Near Speyside
Cliff Stover and Bill Gibbs encountered a rabid fox while hunting near Mitten as it charged. Stover fired twice after the fox approached, knocking it down, but it lunged again before collapsing. The incident occurred Friday morning in Speyside.

Head-on Collision in Fog Kills One Injures Four
A fog bound head on crash on Highway 7 near Acton left Elmer Cyril Canton of Guelph dead and four other men injured. Allan Inceon Jack Roy Hill and Fred Richardson were hospitalized or treated for facial injuries and lacerations. Police report both vehicles suffered about $1,000 damage and the accident occurred while the Richardson car passed east bound traffic.

Constable Rod Buchwald of the local OPP detachment investigated a crash at Queen and Young Streets Acton at 8 B Tuesday. Kenneth John Hopper of Werton collided with Robert Woods of Guelph after Hopper slid on ice. No charges and no injuries were reported.
