Rent controls in Acton face removal in March 1953
Acton council received a 1952 letter from W A Dempsay of the Legislature committee investigating leases. It warned that unless the town objected by August 1952 rent controls would be dropped, with an exemption order dated September 2 1952 and effective March 2, 1953 after a six month waiting period. The council could still seek to continue controls by a March 1 1953 resolution to Rentals Administrator. No action was taken, so controls are set to end March 2 1953 unless council moves to retain them.
