Acton Fair Elects D D Waldie New President 1930
The Acton Fall Fair annual meeting in the Council Chamber praised 1930 as the biggest year yet with receipts $3,641.92 and expenditures $3,000.57 a cash balance over $160 and a near $400 surplus. D D Waldie was elected president with W R Kenney and C McKeown as vice presidents. officers, directors, and life members were announced and thanks extended to retiring president J Kennedy and secretary Akins. The 1931 fair dates were set for September 15 and 16 with plans for the usual Standing Crop and Field Competition.

Aberfoyle Fire Destroys Barn in Varying Loss Report

John Ells, a former resident, owned the barn which was partially insured and unknown causes led to the blaze as smoke was noticed by a passerby.
