Worship Services Planned by Girls at Knox Presbyterian
The C.G.M.T. group of Knox Presbyterian Church met in the Sunday school room, played a game, and conducted business. Mrs. Davidson led a prayer based service as girls prepared two worship sessions for the next meeting and selected hymns for hymn books. The meeting closed with singing The Lord is My Shepherd.

Three Candidates Pass Corps Examinations
Leaders' Fellowship exams for the Junior Leaders' Corps of the M C A were held over two weeks. Acton Annexation Expanded by Ontario Board Decision
The Ontario Municipal Board ruled Acton will gain about 9700 acres, up from 514, including Beardmore and Wool Combing lands. The total assessment for the annexed area is around 400,000 dollars, with 365,000 against Beardmore and Wool Combing properties. The March 1, 1955 effective date is set, with asset adjustments to January 1, 1955.

Acton council spent long hours on by laws Monday night and into Tuesday. First reading authorized sale of a town lot near Baxter Laboratories for 375 dollars. Water extensions for Cobble Hill costing 9500 and roadwork in Glenlea at 2500 were approved for first reading. A 40000 borrowing for a three room addition to the new high school was read first. Acton’s share about KS percent. Expropriation of land to provide a road allowance for 36 acres sold to Fraleigh Construction Co. was brought in for first reading with 1600 dollars assessed value. A slogan suggestion from Wm Wilson was also discussed.
