Annual Meeting of Eramosa Ratepayers Records 1942 Actions
The Eramosa Township ratepayers held their annual meeting at Rockwood Town Hall at 2 pm on December 20. No nominations occurred for council seats, continuing the present council for 1942. Reeve D D Gray was elected chair. T H Reeve of The T Eaton Co presented Union Jacks to Claven School sections amid a flag discussion. Topics covered include equalization of county assessment, road work, tax collection improvements, and damages from dogs totaling 375 dollars. Suggestions were made to prohibit dogs at large. discussion on establishing a township School Board emerged without a vote. The treasurer warned about tax arrears and mortgage risks. The meeting closed with the National Anthem.

London Sick Children's Hospital Fund Passes $501 in Donations

Railway Employee Killed on Georgetown Track
Arthur Melds aged 21 was struck and killed on a Georgetown track while returning from an examination of switch lamps in the yard. He had come from Centralia near Stratford to work for the CMR two weeks earlier. Chief Constable W G Marshall and Provincial Constable J W Reeviey investigated. an inquest was not likely.

Plane Crashed Twice on Farms Near Ballinafad
Flying Officer R J Lanky of No 20 training centre Oshawa forced landed in an RCAF trainer on Alex Binnie’s farm as fog formed. The wing and windshield were damaged. A civilian pilot from Oshawa then struck a elm while attempting to take off from William Harding’s farm, causing a second crash. the plane was a total wreck and the civilian escaped injury.
