An assize court jury found Cecil Lloyd Peters not guilty of attempted rape of an 18 year old Port Credit girl. Justice R W Treleaven dismissed the jury. Peters wife testified she had given birth two days earlier and asked him to stay home. Defense witnesses corroborated. A civil action Begg v Francis over property was settled out of court. Three divorce actions were heard and decrees granted.

Accident on Mill Street Claims Six Year Old
A six year old boy, Tommy Duby, was fatally struck by a construction truck on Mill Street as he crossed near Wilbur Street departing Acton Public School. The driver Harold Agnew, 39, Milton, was aided by Constable Ray Mason and reports indicate speed about fifteen mph. Tommy died instantly from head injuries. funeral held at St Alban's Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery.
