Acton Fair Wins Second in Ontario Fairs Contest
The Acton fair prize list earned second place at the Ontario Fairs Convention in Toronto after competing with 243 class C fairs. The judging covered printing, type, cover, content, composition, and format. Acton's book was produced by Dills Printing and Publishing Company.

A complete Britannica set arrived at the high school Friday with a formal presentation to follow. The Britannica of Canada sets are being donated to over 700 English-speaking high schools coast to coast. Earlier this month the Governor General accepted a symbolic set for Canadian high schools.

W. H. Cook resigned as mayor of Acton at a regular council meeting after four years in office. He moved to Acton in 1955 with his wife and two daughters, Joan and Barbara, and previously served as councillor in 1956 57.
