Georgetown defeats Guelph 7 to 5 in a tight hockey game. Key scorers include Lindsay, Murphy, and Meron for Georgetown while Zest and Morrison stood out for Guelph. Burrows earned the win in goal as Georgetown held the edge throughout.

Rev W A Fingland NIagara Falls spoke on the United Church plans and five year program as preparations for the Acton Presbyterial meeting in March 1954. Nine auxiliary presidents attended along with two conference branch officers. The church women provided dinner for all attendees.
A two year old deer found a few miles from Acton was wounded by dogs in a field near the highway. Drivers of a transport truck moved the injured animal to Acton with Chief Harrop and Dr Oakes summoned, but the deer died before aid arrived. It weighed about 175 to 200 pounds.
The Young People's Associations of town churches held a united gathering last Monday in the Parish Hall hosted by the Anglican group. Rev. Walter McClearey of the Upper Canada Bible Society spoke briefly as attendees filled the hall, then Ed Footitt chaired moving pictures. Bruce Pargeter led a quiz, hill-billy eke, and games with John McHugh, Dorothy Frank, and Mrs Hall contributing to the musical and square dancing activities.

Agricultural officials urge exhibitors to have seed cleaned and graded for exhibition and invite inquiries to the Agricultural Office in Aker.
The February meeting of the Scout Mothers Auxiliary met at Mrs. Wm Evans home with Mrs. W Chisholm in charge. Treasurer Mrs. Fred Kentner reported a ten dollar check sent to the British War Victims Fund. Twenty five signaling flags were donated to Acton Boy Scouts. The National Anthem closed the meeting followed by a social lunch.
