Goods Recovered as Forger Sentenced in Reformatory
Norman Fish known as Bill French of Guelph and near Rockwood received 12 to 18 months at Ontario Reformatory on 16 charges with sentences to run concurrently. He forged checks and obtained a watch from TB D Rachlin of Acton and targeted stores in Guelph. Fourteen offences occurred in Guelph with victims including clothing and jewelry stores and service stations. He faced eight forgery and eight uttering-forgery charges. most goods were recovered.

Acton School Board Sets Estimates and Handles Requisition

The Duke of Devonshire Chapter LO DE held its thirtieth annual meeting at Mrs A Young’s home with Regent Mrs Matthew presiding. Officers were elected for 1947 and reports praised officers and co operation. Miss Yandel Anderson spoke on Prince Edward Island and Confederation cradle Charlottetown. Refreshments followed a social time.
