In M71 the first printing press was set up by Carton with musical notes printed by 1502. Metal type matrices were made in 1472 by Peter Schaefer in Nuremberg. The Gazette, a World newspaper, issued in Nuremburg in 457. Lead pencils were first made in the United States by William Monroe in Concord New Hampshire in 1811. Postage stamps began in England in 1840s and the United States in 1847. Printing reached Cambridge Massachusetts in the United States.
