The final 1934 Acton Council meeting reviewed the Finance Committee’s $2,353.10 accounts including arena and street lighting bills. Reeve E Thetford welcomed back Councillor McMillan from illness and the council set a $5 season rental for arena booth operations and approved street light changes on Guce Street. A donated Christmas tree by John Bennett at $1.50 was tentatively accepted to be lit by the Public Utilities Commission.

Round up Two Burglars Following Hold-up at Brookville
Police rounded up Harry Hall and Jas McKinney after a Brookville hold-up spree linked to several robberies. Officers blocked their car near the Silver Creek hill, found weapons and plates, and took them to Georgetown jail. Victim Elsley identified Hall as a robber, and police pursued related suspects across Drewson Corners and Belfountain.
