The Acton Public Utilities Commission held its final 1942 meeting with Commissioner Conyen and Reeve J M W McDonald presiding. A letter from the HEPC of Ontario notes a rate reduction saving the Corporation $27.12 monthly. other routine payments were approved and a 24 percent cost of living bonus was authorized for eligible staff effective December 1. Chair Symon thanked the commission and staff for their cooperation.

Ontario Extends Motor Vehicle Permits to February 28 1943
The Honorable T. B. McQuesten announced that 1942 motor vehicle permits and drivers licenses expiring December 31 are extended to February 28 1943. 1943 permits go on sale January 4 and must be obtained by February 28 to operate after that date. Ration books will remain in use with new permits and the 1942 permit number entered on the 1943 permit.

The Knox Church WMS held its annual meeting on Thursday December 1 at Mrs F S Blow’s home. Mrs Geo Murray presided as devotional time led by Mrs G W Masales and Mrs FE E Barr. An annual report was read from each department and officers for 1433 were elected including President Mrs Poos Blow Ist Vice President Mrs Barr Barr, Treasurer Mrs Macdonald, and various secretaries.
