Rockwood Man Killed in Early Saturday Crash
A fatal crash on Highway 25 near Milton left Dennis Schmidt 34 dead and three others injured. Thomas Johnson 20 and Edward Brown of Milton were treated for injuries. another passenger, Nonna Mabou 18, suffered arm and facial injuries. Schmidt died at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital after being airlifted from Milton District Hospital. The mishap occurred around 1:29 am just north of the Base Line Road overpass. Funeral services for Schmidt were held at Ramies Shoemaker Funeral Home with burial in Rockwood.
