Nassauagaweya Council Briefs Signal Pet Welfare and Road Plans
At Nepeneweye Township meeting Deputy Reeve William Hoey cited dogs and cats abandoned along roadsides and sought anti abandonment rules. The roads department plans a wage increase next year and the dump site will be enclosed with a gate and fence. A large lot with 731 feet frontage on Fourth Line was approved for separation, but nearby buyer John Pries cannot split for houses. A $400 grant to Halton Federation of Agriculture was approved. The 1967 council’s first meeting is set for January 4 at 7 p.m. An 88 foot road allowance is needed for a service road north of Campbellville to curb truck traffic, conflicting with an owner’s plan for 66 feet. A meeting with owners is planned. Councillors questioned necessity of development road if a new cloverleaf at Hwy 401 Nassau Esquesing Town Line was approved.
