Ventilation for Cellars in Maritime Provinces

The Charlottetown Experimental Farm notes key points for storing potatoes and roots this autumn. It urges pure dry air intake, outlets to vent heat and fumes, and dark storage. Temperature should range from 33 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit when possible. Doors and hatches may be left open at night in early autumn. Slatted ventilators should run along cellar walls and through storage, with double partitions for effective airflow. Hinged doors allow weather-based vent control.
