Tender Revisions Delay Decision on Acton Community Centre
Acton council and the building committee failed to reach a decision after reviewing revised tenders for the fursted Community Centre addition to Acton arena. Contracts from four firms showed reductions and deletions, but costs remained prohibitive, prompting a seven day extension to seek additional funds and plan further review. The panel noted completion this season was impossible, but progress for hockey and skating would continue as an artificial-ice facility.
