Mr Sternhoff of Hamilton visited Mr and Mrs Bridger over the weekend. Mrs Gilbert Smith was home for Miss Myrtle Airdrie who is back from Acton. Miss Bridger returned to Hamilton after two weeks with her parents. A Toronto visitor called on several locals including Mr A McCaig and Mr and Mrs Sims. Sayers and Hepburn of Rockwood visited Mr Mannen. The community mourns the sudden death of Mr Thomas Troup. Lorrance Cullins returns to Toronto after summer with grandparents Bridger.
Eden Mills visits from Detroit as the Wright family hosts. Wilda Gilbertson stays with her aunt in London Ontario. Heavy storm caused two cattle deaths by lightning during Halton Mutual. Women’s Institute met at M Milne’s. planned Labor Day catering at Edgewood Park. Aberfoyle School Fair judges named. other guests include Goodchild of Hamilton and the Gandier family at Lion’s Head. Reports from Guelph detail Ospringe visiting his cousin Master Murray McLean and Robert Van Norman with his son James in Windsor for installing electric machinery. A horse was struck by lightning at Robt. McCutcheon’s farm. Ladies' Aid hosted a monthly meeting with a lunch. Several residents visited relatives and travelled to North Bay. A pilot landed a plane skilfully in a field near a barn. The Women’s Institute plans a Community Picnic at the school grounds on Wednesday afternoon, August 31.

The Bannockburn Women's Institute met August 17 with twelve members and six friends. Miss McDonald chaired as the program featured an instrumental, readings on Old Time Weaving, and a display of antiques. Lunch and a social hour followed.

A five person sedan crash near Cobourg leaves four injured and Roy McGregor in concussion. all were hospitalized.
The Ladies' Organization of the Presbyterian Church held an afternoon tea and baking sale in Rockwood, raising over 20 dollars despite inclement weather that affected plans for a lawn event. Local and visiting residents attended events including a reunion at Riverside Park and multiple social calls. The Rockwood Horticultural Society hosts its annual exhibition on Saturday the 27th. A baby boy was born to Mr and Mrs Rothmel at Guelph General Hospital. Herb S Dyer remains in hospital after surgery but improving.

Ruth Parkins spent Tuesday with Kathleen Truman at Hamilton. Helen Atkinson of Toronto visiting Miss Helen Coates. Phyllis Oldfield of Buffalo visiting Mrs M Burkitt Locust Street. Dave Chisholm of E W Williamson’s funeral parlors Brant Street seriously injured Monday evening falling from a roof while applying tar to finish the job.
