Council Defers Bower Avenue Roadwork in 1969 Plan
Acton council postponed lower Avenue roadwork amid cuts to the 1969 Roads program from the Department of Highways. Park Mill corner and Bower Avenue remain contentious with estimates ranging from 26 000 to over 50 000 though officials favor completing proper work when funds allow. Underground wiring at the federal building site may be cleared first, with a year’s deferral seen as possible.
