Aged Resident Fatally Burned At Home Here
Mrs Edwin Cripps an aged Acton resident died at Guelph General Hospital from burns and shock after a fire started while she was pouring cooking grease. She aged seventy nine years born in Eden Mills a daughter of Henry and Matilda Moore. The Cripps family farmed in Eremoasa then moved to Acton twenty seven years ago. The funeral was held at Victoria B Rumley Funeral Home with service by A W Joyce Toronto and A M Gretton London. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery.

Easter Program Activities at Acton Y and Club Events
Preparations for the Annual Meeting of the Acton VMLCAA and the eighteenth anniversary of its founding are under way at the Y. The program features Mr. RS Moeakings, Canadian National Council of YELCA and former Toronto Family Relations Court judge, plus eight week youth courses in boxing wrestling and bodybuilding starting April 17 with registration required. House league basketball saw the Reds and Hucks win over the Blues and Gold respectively with Bob Bruce and Dan Dawkins leading scorers. Junior classes enjoy an Easter holiday program this week and a party is planned for April 28 with white collar workers organized by A.W. of L. and C10.

At Valley Forge 40,000 scouts will eat a stack of pancakes more than twice the Empire State Building in height during the Second National Jamboree from June 3 to July 6. Canada plans to send a large contingent to the event.
