The Acton Rotary Club held a Crippled Children Fund fair at the Legion auditorium on Friday April 3. George Museetle led bingo with helpers, award prizes for winners and consolation for losers, Theron Jones Joe Callan generated crowd excitement with the rapid transit Dumper trailer, Mac Sprowl supplied cupie dolls, and Doris Thompson won a portable television but was not present. Rotary president Jin Ledger delivered the prize at Woodside School. A hot day and soft drinks energized players. despite rain a large crowd enjoyed the event, ending with a party at Woodside school.

The funeral for Sarah Ann Britton RR 3 Campbellville widow of Edward Britton was held at Rumley funeral homes Acton on April 5. She died April 2 in Milton Private Hospital. She supported Busy Bees Institute and Women Missionary Society and attended Nassagaweya Presbyterian church. Surviving children include Wallard Acton Lina Padbury Moffat Margaret Bayton Edna Anderton Verna Mullen Glen Campbellville James and Jean Eils. Predeceased: husband and two others. Funeral conducted by Rev Ernest Orsborne at Nassagaweya cemetery with pallbearers Linus McMillan George Dredgs George Job Jack Wilson Dr B D Young and Ed Davenport. Flower bearers were grandsons and a nephew.
