The Acton trustees publish a complete list of all residents aged five to twenty one and will require children seven to thirteen to attend school at least 55 days every half year. With high taxes funding the schools, parents must ensure their children receive education, aiming for improved attendance in 1834.

The roof caught but was extinguished in time.
London reports Prince Leopold youngest son of Queen Victoria died this morning in Cannes France due to a fall. He was en route to Darmstadt for his niece Princess Victoria of Nesse wedding. The body to be embalmed and returned to England for burial at Frogmore. The prince born April 7 1846, was highly cultured and resembled his father in many traits.
Halton spring assizes opened with Hon. Justice Osler presiding. The civil docket shows three cases and the criminal calendar was blank. A plan for workhouses to deter vagancy was praised. Grand Jury visited the gaol, and case Cameron McDonald v. Cameron involved a knife theft allegation with a $6 verdict for the plaintiff.
