Winter Wheat and Orchard Spraying Advice for the District

Reports from the district indicate the fall wheat crop survived winter well with green and luxuriant growth. Light snowfalls protected it from cold winds, and a good crop is likely if there is not excessive thawing in the next weeks. Clover has wintered well, though frost damage is not yet ruled out. For fruit trees, spray timing is crucial and should start as buds begin to breathe. Protect new growth with sprays, applying before rain to prevent apple scab, and use delayed dormant spray with soluble sulphur or Black Leaf 40 as directed. Prepare equipment and order sprays early for a strong spring and quality fall fruit.
