The Abbotsford-Sumas district fair resumed after four years with 100 plus exhibitors and solid attendance. Judges praised horses, cattle, sheep, vegetables, fruit, and honey, while Mr. Barrow urged further cooperation and announced ongoing reclamation plans to expand fertile land.
The Royal Northwest Mounted Police mounted rifles plan a four rifle drill at the Vancouver Exhibition with a view to performing at the Royal City. Superintendent Fitz-Horrigan accepted the invitation by telephone. The event, featuring the Scarlet Riders of the Plains, is expected to be a premier attraction from September 29 to October 4.
Mr. R M Winslow returning from Ottawa reports Western interests have secured 2,000 tons of sugar for the West. Purchasers are expected to use it mainly for fruit preserving, with proposed distribution at one ton sugar to four tons of British Columbia preserving fruits. The Market Bulletin commends Winslow for presenting the case.
