The Albotstond football club opened the season Saturday by beating Glen Valley 10 to 4. In the evening a smoker at Alexandra hall featured Mr D Blair snr and entertainment by Me A J Henderson chairing. Performances by Katngley and Mie Ian from Este of Wight and songs by Stanley Knott Morgan Harrop Hevidstain Motley Davidson McGowan Ferguson Dudden and others followed. Mr Peele spoke briefly on snock and Mr Blair played the piano. The gathering concluded with attendees praising the football event as a fine entertainment.

Farmers faced wasted fruit as stone cling varieties failed to find buyers while Triumphs lead canning efforts. Wine First Prize in Potato Contest
The Frazer Valley event in Matsqui aims to teach potato growing to residents. James Allan, formerly of Calgary, now at Marsh's Landing, and Lehman, advised by James Gibson C.M.C., joined the Matsqui Farmers Institute and entered the points growing contest run by the Department of Agriculture. Allan planted half an acre of Dalotas and was surprised to win fifth place among fifteen competitors.

Trails to be cut by province threaten 250 mile network
NEW FOREST TRAILS Superintendent George D. McKay states the provincial government will cut 250 miles of trails this fall. The routes run from Harrison Lake to Stage Lake and include Pitt Lake to Indian River and several others along the coast and inland corridors outside the twenty mile belt from the CPR. The Dominion government has not funded these trails, and no claim on Dominion lands is expected.
