Wholesale produce in Vancouver shortages and markets
Pears are scarce though late varieties remain abundant across the lower mainland and Gulf Islands. Local peaches are almost off the market with higher prices for imported stock. Potatoes show a tentative balance with regional variations and compulsory Dominion grade enforcement shifting responsibility to shippers. Growers are advised not to load potatoes onto the market by consignments to avoid depressed prices.
