General Committee Meets at Matsqui for Patriotic Fund Plan
Officials of the Matsqui Agricultural and Horticultural Association convened in Giffard on Monday September 28 with Wm Merryfield elected chairman and J Gibson as secretary treasurer. They discussed funds from the tinda drive, agreed any needed Matsqui relief would be municipal responsibility, and decided all money collected would go to the Patriotic Pond in Ottawa. The group proposed inviting additional members and planned a Patriotic concert with admissions set at 50 cents for the concert and supper and an extra 50 cents for ball participants, aiming for Friday October 16.
