In Dewdney a large crowd heard W J Bowser attack Premier Oliver over road work and the Matsqui and Industy schemes. Bowser claimed mismanagement, wasteful spending, and promised primary road plans, while Catherwood pressed for action and Victoria representation.
A Calgary backed venture named Home Oil Company Ltd plans to drill near Abbotsford to four thousand five hundred feet in search of crude oil. The project, supported by figures such as Berry and Red wood, aims to prove or disprove oil in the Fraser Valley with a million dollar budget and continuous operations until the site yields results.

Mrs J L Preston entertained at tea at her home on Tuesday afternoon. Miss Margaret Hutchison spent a American Thanksgiving with Miss Morenne Partlow in Sedru Way. The Abbotsford intermediate football team will play Mr Lori at Abbotsford on Saturday afternoon. A serious accident occurred Thursday morning in the Abbots furl Lumber Co. sawmill when Mr Schlater lost his life falling a tree. Father Collins of Chilliwack conducted the funeral services. Mr Schlater was buried at the Roman Catholic cemetery at Mission. Mrs S Thowas of Mixson City and Mrs J McMelony are spending a few days in Vancouver. Mrs Robson of Ladner has been visiting her sister in law Mrs W Couls.
