Passes Away in Abbotsford John Rodgers
John Rodgers died in Abbotsford on Sunday November 15 after a short illness. Born December 1, 1837 in Dunmhor, Scotland, he lived in Callendar for about 40 years and moved to Canada three years ago with his family, settling in Abbotsford. He was a longtime church elder, husband to Juliet Battison, and father to eight children. Interment was in Musselwhite Cemetery. funeral led by Rev. J. L. Campbell and Rev. Mr. Yates.

Early December a musical entertainment will be given by children at Abbotsford guided by Mr Steede and local music teachers. The two hour program will include songs choruses instrumental pieces and drills. Proceeds support a commendable cause with future date and details to be announced.

Thanksgiving supper at Alexander Hall and local notices
The W. A of St Matthews Church will host an American Thanksgiving supper at Alexander Hall on Thursday November 26 from 5:30 to 8 p m. Admission 25 cents with menu including Cold Roast port and Co Scalloped Pork and Beans Salads and Pickles Pumpkin Apple and Mince Pies Doughnuts and Coffee. A dance for patriotic funds is planned under board of trade auspices. Mr Walter Wells remains housebound a week more after a sprained ankle. Mrs J J Sparrow has stayed at the St Francis Hotel in Vancouver this past week. Mr J J Sparrow notes he has paid all he owes this paper except for editors pay. Mr and Mrs Geo Beckett and child left for Stall Alberta to reside, Mr Beckett formerly with Abbotsford Timber Co. and the family's departure is noted with regret.

McCrae Couple Visit Rockport While Retaining G N A Conductor Role
Mr and Mrs McCrae of Rockport visit friends in town and stay with Mr and Mrs Hutton. McCrae serves as conductor on the G N A route between Seattle and Rockport, a position he continues in today.
