Abbotsford May Day Gala Draws Large Crowd in Abbotsford
Abbotsford held its Second Annual May Day from morning parade to evening dance with smooth proceedings and high spirits. Twenty eight parade entries impressed judges Reeve Munroe and others as prizes went to Smith, Swift, McDonald, Lee, Emery Currie, Mildred Hill Tout, J Downie, and Harry Taylor. An afternoon baseball game saw Abbotsford beat Matsqui 16 to 5. Queens Miss Bessie Anderson and Miss Annie McPhee drew praise in white gowns. The evening concert and tag parade drew a large attentive audience, though a winners list could not be published due to a mishap.
