Four Year Timeline for Sumas Dyking District Reclamation Plan
A 1913 memorandum outlines Dominion Government and Sumas Dyking District Commissioners agreement. It requires dyking and drainage works on lands in British Columbia’s Railway Belt to be completed within four years, with full reclamation and agricultural readiness verification by the Minister before patent issuance. The commission may construct directly or by contract, and only reclaimed areas will be entitled to lands.
