On Tuesday evening Hon. John Oliver was selected as Premier of British Columbia by the Liberal caucus after a three hour voting session. Five candidates started Oliver Farris King Sloan and McLean. The cabinet likely remains but Barrow of Chilliwack may join as Agriculture minister later. Oliver born 1856 in England arrived Canada 1870, homesteaded in Surrey, and now owns a Delta farm with eight children.

A severe accident occurred on the G N track near Abbotsford when the N P passenger train from Vancouver to Seattle derailed after a slow order. Engineer and several crew were injured, with Floriman J A Bumpries dying at 5:65 PM. Passengers include Mrs. Marry Fraeman of New Westminster.
