Two Residents Fined for Hooting Offense in District
Two residents were caught allegedly hooting across a line and fined heavily. One faced about 100 dollars in fines plus lawyer fees, the other 250 dollars and 30 days in jail. Both were treated as first offenses and unnamed by the paper. The capture is described as a clever piece of work.
Whist Party Held at Tretheweys Amid Dancing and Refreshments
A pleasant evening at the home of Mr and Mrs Trethewey featured fourteen tables of whist and dainty refreshments. Dancing followed. Mr Ball and family have moved into the house vacated by the Plommer family.

Abbotsford to Get Its Own Picture Show
Abbotsford may open a moving picture show by a new Abbotsford Amusement Company. If plans succeed, the first show could be held in about three weeks under an experienced manager. Local excitement grows as supporters say the venture will benefit the town.

At a Tuesday meeting of returned authors about forty people discussed forming a Abbotsford branch of the G W V A and invited Sergt Drinnan to attend next Tuesday evening June 24. Returned men urged to attend. The Sumon council previously raised the indemnity giving the reeve more pay than councillors, a move the reeve later vetoed.
